Huhn to attempt to revive his career following a transfer from Texas

Posted January 16th, 2017

A Texas Longhorn is planning a comeback.

Defensive back Erik Huhn announced over the weekend that he will look to join a football program as a graduate transfer this upcoming season. Huhn is set to graduate from Texas this spring, and he has received his release from the Longhorns.

Huhn was a three-star prospect out of Cibolo Steele when he signed with the Longhorns in 2013. Injuries, however, stalled his career, and he did not appear on Texas’ roster in 2015 or 2016. During the 2014 season, Huhn was listed as a 6-foot-3-inch, 209-pound safety.

Huhn rehabbed a shoulder injury as he redshirted during the 2013 season. He announced the following September that he had injured his knee, and he did not see any playing time that fall.
