Texas had four Longhorns golfers selected to the Arnold Palmer Cup teams, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Wednesday.
Cole Hammer earned a spot on the men’s U.S. team while Kaitlyn Papp, Hailee Cooper and Agathe Laisne took slots on the women’s teams.
Hammer and five other golfers selected to the squad will begin competition June 7 at the Alotian Club in Roland, Ark. He’s the ninth UT golfer to earn a spot on the team. Hammer has a 70.00 stroke average and has finished in the top 25 in four tournaments.
Papp and Cooper claimed positions on the women’s U.S. team while Laisne earned a spot on the International squad. Texas is the only team in the country with three members named to the Arnold Palmer Cup teams.
Papp was on the 2018 team that won the Arnold Palmer Cup. She finished inside the top six of the Arnold Palmer Cup rankings while Cooper and Laisne earned spots via committee selections.
The women’s matches begin June 7 at the Alotian Club as well.
