Former Longhorn sprinting star Jimmy Feigen won the silver medal in the 100 meters Thursday at the FINA World Championships in Barcelona.
And Texas ex Karlee Bispo earned a gold medal, swimming a leg of the winning 800 free relay.
Australia’s James Magnussen was the champion in the 100 free. Feigen edged fellow American Nathan Adrian for the silver. Adrian won the gold medal in the event at last year’s Olympics. Feigen has two silvers in the champions. He also was on the men’s 400 free relay team that finished second earlier in the week. Former Longhorn Ricky Berens also was a member of the relay.
Bispo became the first Longhorn women’s swimmer to medal at a world championship in 12 years.
Also earlier in the week, Texas ex Michael McBroom won a silver in the 800 free.
