If you thought the “Watch List Season” ended in July, think again.
The Manning Award, presented annually to the nation’s best collegiate quarterback, released its watch list Friday, and Texas’ David Ash made the 30-player list.
Ash, a junior, is entering his second full season as the Longhorns’ starter. Last year he completed 214 of 318 passes (67.3 percent) for 2,699 yards and 19 touchdowns, with eight interceptions.
Ash is on three watch lists for 2013. Others are the Maxwell Award as the player of the year and the Davey O’Brien Award to the top quarterback.
