Update from the Longhorns’ Monday press conference:
DEPTH CHART: We’ve seen the depth chart for Saturday. It seems the biggest change coming out of the 40-21 loss in Provo was made Sunday, with the removal of Manny Diaz.
As we’ve already blogged, Daje Johnson is out for the Ole Miss game. Jaxon Shipley will move from the slot over to wide receiver. Kendall Sanders, who caught four passes in his 2013 debut last week, will start at Shipley’s usual slot position.
David Ash and Case McCoy are either/or options at quarterback. Ash is day to day with his head and shoulder injury. McCoy will start if Ash can’t.
TEXAS-KANSAS STATE: The details for the Texas-Kansas State game have been released. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at DKR, and it’ll be shown on ABC.
EARLIER UPDATES …
A couple of house-cleaning items out of today’s weekly press conference with the Longhorns — the day after there was a bit of house-cleaning as well with the team:
Daje Johnson will miss Saturday’s Ole Miss game.
David Ash may or may not play. He’s officially day to day, as he’s dealing with both head and shoulder injuries. If he can’t go, then Case McCoy will get the start and Tyrone Swoopes moves to No. 2.
New defensive coordinator Greg Robinson will not be available to the media today. Normally, the offensive and defensive coordinators have separate sit-downs with us after Mack Brown‘s press conference. But Mack said Robinson, who replaced Manny Diaz on Sunday, has too much on his plate right now — i.e. preparing a game plan for the Rebels, getting better acquainted with his new players, etc. — to devote that interview time today.
