Led by Duncanville All-State Ariel Atkins, three of the nation’s top three girls basketball players will make recruiting trips to the University of Texas this week.
Atkins will be joined by 6-4 center Jatarie White of Charlotte, N.C. and 5-4 Duncanville point guard Tasia Foman.
The 5-11 Atkins (16.7 points, 5.7 steals, 4.6 assists per game last year) is ranked by ESPN as the No. 4 overall high school recruit in the class of 2014. Already verbally committed to Texas, she led Duncanville to the Class 5A state championship in March.
White could make UT’s recruiting haul an overwhelming success if she chooses to play for the Longhorns. She ranks as the No. 7 overall prospect in the country and No. 1 center. She has already made unofficial visits to Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Clemson.
Foman averaged 11.2 points, 4.2 steals and 3.9 assists per game for Duncanville as a junior. She is ranked as the No. 24 point guard in the nation by ESPN.
