Texas coach Mack Brown said quarterback David Ash will not play next Saturday against Kansas.
Brown, in his post-game press conference after Texas’ 30-7 win over TCU in Fort Worth, said Ash — who has played only two quarters since Sept. 7, and has missed the last three games entirely — was not released by doctors on Saturday morning, and so he wouldn’t be available for the Jayhawks game.
Case McCoy will make his 11th career start. He’s led the Longhorns to four straight Big 12 victories, and Texas is tied with Baylor atop the conference standings.
Freshman Tyrone Swoopes made his season debut on Texas’ final drive against TCU. He didn’t attempt a pass.
