Nate Boyer, the Longhorns’ snapper for place kicks and punts, will be recognized by the National Football Foundation at its annual awards dinner on Dec. 10 in New York.
Boyer, a former Green Beret Bronze Star recipient who is a first-team academic All-Big 12 selection, will receive the NFF’s legacy Award.
“Nate Boyer represents the strong connection between the playing field and the battlefield, and he has achieved success at the highest levels in both settings as well as in the classroom with a 3.84 GPA and now working on a graduate degree in advertising,” NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell said in a statement. “He is a great role model for young people nationwide to emulate, and we are extremely grateful for the example that he has set.”
