Longhorns wide receiver/running back Daje Johnson and fullback Chet Moss have been suspended for next week’s Thanksgiving game against Texas Tech, coach Mack Brown announced Thursday.

Texas said the pair was suspended for an unspecified violation of team rules.

Johnson, a sophomore, leads the team with the most plays of 10 yards or longer, with 27. Twenty of those have come on kick returns and seven on punt returns. He has rushed 22 times for 121 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown in the opener against New Mexico State. He also has 22 receptions for 168 yards, with a 66-yard TD catch against New Mexico State. He had an 85-yard punt return for a touchdown against Oklahoma.

Johnson also was suspended for the 2012 opener against Wyoming for a violation of team rules.

Moss, a junior, has appeared in nine games on special teams with one tackle each in games against New Mexico State, Ole Miss and Kansas State.
