Texas hires Anthony Pass as new football athletic trainer

Posted March 11th, 2014

Former Florida and Texas Tech athletic football trainer Anthony Pass has joined the Texas football staff in a similar position, two school spokesmen said.

Pass replaces Kenny Boyd, who is leaving UT to join the North Carolina staff. Boyd had been with the Longhorns since July 2003.

Pass, a native of Broomfield, Colo., graduated from Colorado in 1999 with a kinesiology degree and received his Master’s degree in sport administration at Houston. He worked with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans before being hired as head athletic trainer at Indiana State in 2003.

Pass was the head football trainer at Florida from 2005 until last spring. He joined the Texas Tech staff prior to the 2013 season.

The Red Raiders have already found Pass’ replacement. Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt said the school hired Jeremy Busch, who was Nebraska’s head football trainer.
