Nathan Thornhill, a starting pitcher for the Longhorns, announced on his Twitter feed that he plans to remain with the team for his senior season instead of signing a professional contract.
Thornhill, a right-hander, was drafted in the 24th round by the Houston Astros. He was 3-6 last season on a poor hitting team with an impressive 2.21 ERA.
With Thornhill’s decision, the Longhorns have their entire weekend starting rotation back. Parker French and Dillon Peters will be juniors.
