During his fall semester in 2014, University of Texas student Jonathan Dror came up with a smooth Longhorn-inspired verse in his dorm room. He submitted a 10-second clip of the tune to UT’s Campus Story on Snapchat, and the video garnered over 20,000 views in 24 hours, according to a report by the University Co-Op.
Dror decided to use that clip as a springboard for something bigger and better – Tuesday morning, he dropped a full-length music video for “Put ‘Em Up,” a spirited Longhorn anthem that features his original Snapchat famous lyrics as the chorus.
The video was shot at several campus hot spots, including the UT Tower, the University Co-Op and Royal-Memorial Stadium. Dror also let a few campus celebrities in on the party – recently-announced starting quarterback Tyrone Swoopes, top freshman linebacker Malik Jefferson, wide receivers Lorenzo Joe, Roderick Bernard and Dorian Leonard as well as quarterback Jerrod Heard all make appearances in the video.
Also in the spotlight are former Student Government President and Vice President Kori Rady and Taylor Strickland, as well as current President and VP Xavier Rotnofsky and Rohit Mandalapu.
