Texas-Ex Bertine Strauss earned a LPGA Tour card after a 15th place finish at the LPGA Qualifying Tournament on Sunday in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The 2015 Big 12 player of the year shot 5-under par through five rounds to gain full tour membership. Strauss carded a 69, 73, 72, 70 and 71 to finish at 355.
“I am just thrilled for Bertine. She deserves to be out there on the LPGA Tour. She has worked very hard on her game and is constantly improving.” said Texas women’s golf head coach Ryan Murphy.
Strauss will join former Texas players Rebecca Bentham, Heather Bowie Young, Lisa Ferraro, Shannon Fish and Katelyn Sepmoree on the tour.
