Update: Sterlin Gilbert, Texas discussing deal

After a whirlwind afternoon, it appears that Tulsa co-offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert could be the next Texas offensive coordinator sources told Brian Davis of Hookem.com.

And Texas is now possibly bringing both of Tulsa’s offensive coordinators to Austin.

Although no deal is official just yet.

Gilbert rejected a Texas offer earlier Friday, causing an internet firestorm and prompting an emergency Tulsa trip by Texas athletics’ biggest power brokers.  It didn’t take long for Texas to arrive in Tulsa.

Matt Mattox and Gilbert are Tulsa’s offensive coordinators, and Mattox is also the offensive line coach. Texas is now overflowing with offensive coaches.
