The top-ranked Texas men’s swimming and diving team won 11 out of 16 events to defeat No. 8 Auburn 156-136 on Thursday at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
John Shebat, Will Licon, Joseph Schooling and Jack Conger teamed up to open the meet with a 200-yard medley relay victory. They finished in 1 minute, 27.23 seconds.
Clark Smith swam a 9:11.24 in the 1,000 freestyle a month after setting NCAA and American records in the event. Townley Haas finished in second with a time of 9:11.78. Haas also took the top spot in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:36.69.
Smith also won the 500 freestyle in 4:24.07.
Ryan Harty finished first (47.37) in the 100 backstroke, with Shebat taking second (48.41) for at Texas one-two finish. Harty also won the 200 backstroke in 1:42.86.
Conger finished the 200 butterfly in 1:44.22 for first place while Will Glass came in second with a time of 1:46.64.
Licon won the 200 breaststroke in 1:57.14.
Mark Anderson won the one-meter diving event with 373.13 points. Cory Bowersox won the three-meter event with 378.60 points.
