After sweeping Abilene Christian earlier in the day, the Texas men’s tennis team defeated Lamar 6-1 at the Weller Indoor Tennis Center on Tuesday night.
For the second time on the day Julian Zlobinsky clinched the team win for the Longhorns has he defeated Jeandre Hoogenboezem 6-2, 7-6 (3) at the fifth singles position.
John Mee and Harrison Scott defeated Juuso Laitinen and Sebastian Santibanez 6-1 to take the first doubles match. George Goldholff and Zlobinsky clinched the doubles point for the Longhorns by defeating Michael Feucht and Benny Schweizer 6-3.
Michael Riechmann and Adrian Ortiz rounded out the doubles competition with a 7-6 (5) win over Hoogenboezem and Nikita Lis.
After Colin Markes fell to Juuso Laitinen to tie the competition at 1-1, Ortiz put the Longhorns back on top with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Santibanez.
Scott defeated Lis 6-2, 6-1 to put the Longhorns in control at 3-1 before Zlobinsky sealed the win.
George Goldhoff defeated Feucht in a long match, 4-6 7-6 (3), 1-0 (10-4) to give the Longhorns their fifth win of the competition.
Riechmann closed out the competition with a 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 win over Schweizer.
The Longhorns next face UC-Santa Barbara and Washington in Seattle this weekend.
