Posted March 18th, 2016
Persistent lighting led to the suspension of Friday’s baseball series opener between Texas and Tulane.
The game, which was tied 1-1 after two innings, will resume at 2 p.m. Saturday. Game two of the series will follow 45 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
Tulane opened Friday’s scoring in the first inning on a throwing error by Texas first baseman Kacy Clemens. The Longhorns tied it up in the bottom half of the inning when Travis Jones scored on Patrick Mathis’ RBI groundout. Tres Barrera doubled in the inning.
Kyle Johnston started the game for Texas. He surrendered one hit and struck out one batter.
