Oklahoma State women’s tennis team defeats Texas 4-2

No. 17 Oklahoma State won a tie-breaker to win the doubles point and won three singles matches to defeat Texas 4-2 on Friday at UT’s Weller Indoor Tennis Center.

UT’s Breaunna Addison and Dani Wagland notched singles wins and teamed up and won at first doubles against Maria Alvarez and Kelsey Laurente 6-3. The Cowgirls clinched the double point when Viktoriya Lushkova and Carla Tur Mari beat UT’s Neda Koprcina and Daniella Roldan in a tiebreaker 7-2.

The Cowgirls got wins at the sixth and fifth singles positions and Texas countered with Addison’s victory at first singles and Wagland’s win at third singles.

Laurente clinched the team win with a 6-4, 6-2 win against Katie Poluta, 6-4, 6-2.

The Cowgirls (15-4) improved to 3-0 in conference play, Texas (9-6) dropped to 1-2 in the Big 12.
