Texas LB Dalton Santos announces he’s transferring
Linebacker with 36 career games missed 2015 season after ankle surgery
Posted May 2nd, 2016
Texas linebacker Dalton Santos, who would be a fifth-year senior this fall, announced Monday he is transferring.
In a statement posted on his Twitter account, Santos thanked former UT coach Mack Brown for bringing him to Austin and the current coaching staff for the last two years.
“My time here on the forty acres has come to an end and I will be transferring for my 5th year after graduation,” Santos said in his statement.
Santos missed the 2015 season after undergoing ankle surgery last September. He promised reporters that he’d return for spring practice, and Santos did exactly that. But it’s likely Santos may not have seen much playing time this fall with the influx of younger players.
The Altus, Okla., native played in 10 games as a junior in 2014 and finished the season with 12 tackles and two pass break-ups.
