Where are all the Texas fans? Here’s a national map

Posted May 9th, 2016

The college football world is months away from the start of the season, and unless you’re a super fan who follows summer camp recruiting and 7-on-7 high school football box scores that may feature a player who could wear burnt orange (you know who you are), then you’re really missing college football these days.

And now there’s a map of where those college football longing-hearts live. Based on 3,462 responses, a college football fan on reddit has posted a map detailing which college football programs have the most fans in a particular region.

Here’s a link to the map – that can be enlarged for detail.

Notice the Minnesota Longhorn love. Maybe it’s because of Brian Robison, who we named the greatest Longhorn Viking draft pick ever a few weeks ago.  There’s also a spec of Wyoming that loves Longhorns and a large swath of Arizona that’s covered in burnt orange.
