NBA mock draft likes Prince Ibeh; No Isaiah Taylor

Posted May 11th, 2016

Next month, not long after the NBA crowns a new champion, 60 players will be taken the 2016 NBA Draft, and at least one mock draft has a Longhorn on it.

But it’s not the Longhorn who left school early.

After blossoming as senior, center Prince Ibeh, the 2016 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, has landed on Draft Express’ latest, and last, mock draft before the lottery selection next week. According to the web site, Ibeh will be the 54th pick in the second round by the Atlanta Hawks. The 6-foot-11-inch, 260 pound senior stepped into a starter’s role last season for Texas and had his best season at Texas.

Despite averaging just 4.1 points per game and five rebounds, Ibeh’s two blocks per game and potential made scouts take a second look at him this season.

Meanwhile, Texas’ leading scorer, Isaiah Taylor, who left school early to enter the draft and later signed an agent, is not in the mock draft.

Neither Taylor or Ibeh were invited to the NBA Draft Combine which began today.
