Instant reaction: Texas 12, Oklahoma State 8 — Horns rally with nine-run eighth

Where it went right: Responding to OK State’s seven-run sixth, the Horns exploded for nine runs in the eighth on five hits and one error. With the bases loaded, Travis Jones was hit by a pitch to tie the game. From there, Bret Boswell and Kody Clemens (triple) knocked in two runs a piece for a 12-8 lead.

The starter: Kyle Johnston came out for the sixth and left after giving up two singles. It was the third inning in which Johnston allowed the leadoff batter to reach base. On the night, he was charged with three earned runs on six hits.

Top hitter: Bret Boswell, 2-3, 3 RBI, 2 BB.

Key stat: For the second straight night, every player in the Texas lineup got a hit. Prior to then, it hadn’t happened all season.

Next game: 12:30 p.m. Saturday vs TCU.
