Bromberg qualifies second in women’s platform diving at U.S. Olympic Trials

Four current, former and future Longhorns qualified for the diving finals of the U.S. Olympic Trials on Monday. Texas junior Murphy Bromberg led the way, qualifying second in the women’s platform event.

Bromberg scored 645.95 points through the preliminary and semifinal rounds. Jessica Parratto is in first place with 714.95 points.

The platform finals will be televised on NBC at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Bromberg is also set to compete in Wednesday’s synchronized platform final. If she seals at least a second-place finish in the platform final she’ll make the U.S. Olympic team.


Mark Anderson, former Longhorn Troy Dumais and future Longhorn Grayson Campbell each qualified for the men’s three-meter final to be held on Saturday. Anderson scored 856.95 points to qualify third. Four-time Olympian, Dumais, qualified fourth with 856.10 points. Campbell was eighth with 758.75 points.

Anderson and Dumais are also going to compete in Wednesday’s synchronized three-meter finals.
