The award, presented by the PwC SMU Athletic Forum, is given annually to the nation’s top running back. Former Longhorns Ricky Williams (1997, 1998) and Cedric Benson (2004) are previous winners.
Foreman started 10 games last season and finished as the team’s second-leading rusher with 681 yards. He posted four 100-yard games and scored five times.
Warren played in eight games in 2015 but broke loose in the last two. He rushed for 470 yards and scored four touchdowns. Against Texas Tech on Thanksgiving night, Warren set the school’s freshmen rushing record with 276 yards, breaking Benson’s record of 213 set in 2001.
The PwC SMU Athletic Forum board of directors will name 10 semifinalists in November. The award will be announced on Dec. 8 as part of The Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN.
