Everywhere you look, Texas fans are sounding off about the Longhorns’ defense.
After the 50-43 loss to California early Sunday morning, the conversation immediately shifted to how the Bears were able to rack up 507 offensive yards.
Understandably, fingers started pointing toward defensive coordinator Vance Bedford. Fans have been creative on social media, suggesting that head coach Charlie Strong should fire Bedford, demote him or even support him.
Here’s a sampling of the collective mental state of Texas’ fanbase:
Looks like Vance Bedford still has his job so Charlie didn't grant my birthday wish. #firevancebedfordnow

Vance Bedford's lucky he doesn't coach in Germany. https://t.co/UJZsGdOBsG

I like Vance Bedford but whatever he is doing isn't working for this defense. So it's time to fire Vance & let Strong take over the defense

Charlie really dancing around firing Vance Bedford and I don’t appreciate it

The other side is considerably smaller — or at least less vocal — but Bedford does have his supporters.
Vance will get defense fixed. Too much talent on that side of the ball.

Luckily for Bedford, Strong’s opinion is the only one that matters.
