WATCH: Did officials help Charlie Strong accept a penalty?

Posted October 1st, 2016

It appears Charlie Strong got a little advice near the end of the third quarter.

Oklahoma State was called for having an illegal man downfield after it completed a pass inside Texas territory. Strong asked to decline the penalty, which would have resulted in a loss of down.

Two referees then converged on Strong, and after a short conversation the Longhorns coach changed his mind.

“Charlie was showing ‘decline penalty’ and I think the official went over and helped him out,” the ABC announcer said following the exchange.
