Texas LT Connor Williams named an Outland Trophy semifinalist

Posted November 16th, 2016

Texas left tackle Connor Williams was named one of five semifinalists for the Outland Trophy, which is presented annually to the nation’s best lineman.

The award is presented by the Football Writers Association of America.

Williams was named a freshman All-American last season and has another impressive year. He’s graded out at least 90 percent in four games, according to the UT coaches, and totaled 24 knockdowns in nine games. Williams has also paved the way for D’Onta Foreman, the nation’s leading rusher and a Doak Walker Award semifinalist.

Ohio State’s Pat Elflein, Washington State’s Cody O’Connell, LSU’s Ethan Pocic and Alabama’s Cam Robinson are also named as Outland semifinalists, according to the FWAA.
