Mock draft: D’Onta Foreman could be first Longhorn taken in first round since 2015
Posted December 5th, 2016
D’Onta Foreman rushed for more than 2,000 yards this season and showcased NFL talent during his junior campaign. All this led to his announcement last week that he was bolting for the NFL.
So where will he go?
Yes. It’s early December and we need to start talking about mock drafts.
According to the Sporting News’ latest Mock Draft on Dec. 1, Foreman, regardless of what the Heisman Trophy voters decide, will be headed to New York soon, as a member of the New York Giants with the No. 28 pick. If that happens he’ll become the first Texas first-round pick since Malcom Brown went to the New England Patriots in 2015.
The website has Foreman slotted to replace Rashad Jennings and becoming the primary back for the Giants.
Will this happen? We still have a bowl season and an NFL Draft Combine to go through, so we’ll see where Foreman’s stock is between now and the spring.
