If true, this Tampa Bay Times blog about Charlie Strong makes sense
Posted December 9th, 2016
The Tampa Bay Times, a newspaper that promotes its 12 Pulitzer Prizes at the top of its website, reports that a plane belonging to Texas booster Gary H. Martin was on its way to Tampa International Airport.
Now, Hookem.com blogs a lot of things, but booster trips to South Florida simply isn’t something we follow closely even on the slowest of news days. But the Times is following a story about Charlie Strong possibly becoming the next head coach at University of South Florida.

And because the University of Texas is on the hook for all of Charlie Strong’s salary unless he gets another job, a Texas booster’s plane flying to Tampa makes sense, we guess, news-wise.
Here is the blog post by the Tampa Bay Times.
Strong is starting to pop-up as a coaching candidate from sea to shining sea. South Florida is interested. So Is Cincinnati. And now Oregon is. Where will Charlie Strong coach next year other than not Texas? Who knows. But if he doesn’t take the South Florida job, maybe Texas boosters will start kicking the tires and lighting the fires on those private planes for him, if they already haven’t.
