Salvatore Cannella, one of the top junior college prospects in the country, made his college decision on Wednesday.
The Scottsdale Community College tight end announced that he will attend Auburn next fall. He chose the Tigers over Texas and Maryland, both of which made his top three.
Cannella is ranked No. 22 overall and No. 2 among junior college tight ends, according to 247Sports.com. The 6-foot-6, 230-pound target caught 29 passes for 443 yards and 7 touchdowns as a freshman for the Fighting Artichokes.
He visited Austin just last weekend, but ultimately decided to take his talents to the SEC. Texas landed a commitment from a junior college kicker, Joshua Rowland, on Monday.
