Texas guard Brooke McCarty earns fans’ choice for NCAA.com ‘Starting Five’

Each week, NCAA.com shines some light on five outstanding performers across women’s college basketball. This week, Texas junior guard Brooke McCarty made the cut, and she has the fans to thank.
The website put out a poll on Twitter so fans could vote for who should get the fifth spot, and McCarty ran away with 57 percent of the vote.

McCarty, who is on the watch list for the 2017 Naismith Women’s College Player of the Year award, played a key role in helping the Longhorns beat non-conference rival Tennessee. She had 13 points, four blocked shots and four assists in the 72-67 win.
