REPORT: Former Longhorn Kyle Shanahan to be offered 49ers head coaching job

Posted January 17th, 2017

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that former Texas wide receiver Kyle Shanahan will be offered the San Francisco  head coaching job.

The 49ers are waiting until after the Atlanta Falcons’ season is over to make it official, Schefter hints. Shanahan, the son for Super Bowl winning coach Mike Shanahan, played at Texas in the early 2000s after transferring from Duke. He has been the offensive coordinator of the Houston Texans, Washington Redskins, Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons.
