Texas coach Shaka Smart said Tuesday there is no status update on Tevin Mack, who is suspended indefinitely and missed the last four games.
Mack was the team’s leading scorer when Smart announced the 6-foot-7 swingman was benched for an undisclosed violation of team rules. The South Carolina native is still listed on the team’s online roster and the university’s online directory of students.
The Longhorns appear to be playing better without Mack. In the last four games, Jarrett Allen (17 points per game) and Andrew Jones (15.8) have seen their scoring totals go up.
“It’s my job as a head coach to always do the right thing for our program and the guys within our program,” Smart said. “Right now, the guys who are wearing a Texas uniform are the guys who need to be wearing a Texas uniform.”
