Update: Texas fans understand the value of having a reliable kicker. Rowland hopes to help Texas improve on special teams. He’s accurate and sports a big leg. Rowland was offered by Herman’s staff on Dec. 11 and committed the same day. The early enrollee was the top-rated junior college placekicker coming and is the favorite to take over the Longhorns’ field goal and extra-point duties this fall. In his two JUCO years, Rowland made 25 of his 31 field goal attempts with a long of 44 yards. He was 76 of 77 on extra points.
