Meet the new Longhorns: RB Daniel Young an ‘aggressive runner’

Update: Young’s familiarity with this Texas staff extends back years. He was once coached at Westfield by current UT tight ends coach Corby Meekins before Meekins left Westfield to join Tom Herman’s staff at Houston. Meekins recruited him for Houston, and Young committed to the Cougars last September. After Herman left to Texas, he and Meekins were quick to offer Young, who promptly de-committed from UH on Dec. 20 and then pledged to Texas three days later. Young is deceptively fast for a north-south runner, and is a bull to tackle with enough speed to create big plays if he gets into the second or third level of a defense.
