Texas junior Sophia Schubert shot a 69 Monday to help the Longhorns jump to sixth place after the second round of the three-day UFC Challenge in Orlando, Fla.

Schubert made five birdies and is tied for 11th place individually at 3-under par. This was her fourth round this season under 70.

Schubert’s round of 69 came a day after freshman Emilee Hoffman fired a 69 in the first round of the tournament Sunday.

Hoffman had back-to-back birdies on No. 6 and 7, plus two additional birdies more which more than offset Hoffman’s lone bogey. Schubert shot a 72 in the opening round and was tied for 28th going into Monday’s second round.

Both Hoffman and Schubert were tied in 11th place going into the final round.

Senior Haley Mills finished under par on the second day, with a round of 7o after an opening round 74. Mills is at even par going into the final round and tied for 33rd.

The leader after Sunday’s opening round, Isabelle Johansson of Kentucky, dropped to second place and is three strokes behind Cheih Jessica Peng of Mississippi State — who has rounds fo 66 and 65.

Mississippi State leads the team scoring at 16 under. Miami is in second at 9 under hwile host UCF, which was in the lead after Sunday, is in third at 8 under.
