Texas is recruiting another quarterback while a former one is frustrated over program woes

Posted March 21st, 2017

Statesman columnist Kirk Bohls lobbed some Texas Longhorn breaking news on Twitter Monday as Tom Herman confirmed that former LSU quarterback Brandon Harris is being pursued by the Longhorns.

Harris has already announced that Texas is in the mix as Harris eyes an opportunity to compete with Shane Buechele and Sam Ehlinger for the starting quarterback job. Harris is a graduate transfer and would arrive on campus this summer.

Meanwhile, Bohls also spoke with Longhorn legend Colt McCoy on Monday. McCoy said he’s ready for the Longhorns to return to the highest level of college football.

McCoy seems to like what he sees from Tom Herman during spring football.

Editor’s note: The original version of this story has been edited to correct the sport McCoy was referencing.
