No. 3 seed Texas will play No. 2 seed Stanford in the Sweet 16 at 8 p.m. on Friday in Lexington, Ky at Rupp Arena.
Stanford beat Kansas State 69-48 on Monday.
The Longhorns beat Stanford in the Sweet 16 in 1988 and are 4-6 all-time against the Cardinal.
Stanford (30-5) has made 10 straight Sweet 16s while Texas has made three in a row. The game will follow No. 5 seed Ohio State (the closest university to Lexington) against No. 1 seed Notre Dame. The winners of both games will play at 11 a.m. on ESPN.
