Do you blame him? Sergio Garcia, engaged to a Longhorn, reportedly wants to wear green jacket to wedding

Posted April 11th, 2017

In July, professional golfer Sergio Garcia will marry the daughter of former Longhorn quarterback Marty Akins, Golf Channel reporter Angela Akins.

And now he may be wearing green to the nuptials. According to the Golf Channel, Garcia, once considered the best active golfer in the game without a major victory, is thinking of wearing his Masters green jacket to the wedding.

“We were just talking about it. This one is a little bit too big. It would be nice, but I don’t know. We’ll get to that point when we get there,” he said in the interview.

The man spent most of his 37-years on this world pursing a Masters championship, maybe he should be allowed to wear his green jacket at all times. However, we’re guessing all wedding decisions will be cleared by the bride (because, well, duh?). Garcia never won a major until after getting engaged to Akins, and it was his bride to be that maybe helped his focus last week in Augusta

“All week we were talking about he could do this, he could do this. His mindset is great,” Akins said in the interview with the Golf Channel about Garcia’s Masters week.

Stay tuned.
