Posted April 19th, 2017

A day after ESPN released its final player rankings, recruiting website 247 Sports unveiled its final  2017 rankings, and all of Texas’ recruiting class members made the list.

Yes, 247Sports’ final recruiting rankings list 247 players, so while ESPN’s top 100 listed three Longhorns, 247Sports lists just two in the top 100, but all four are in the top 200.

Jericho Sims is the highest-rated Longhorn at No.33, while Matt Coleman is No. 62. Jase Febres rose 15 spots in the rankings to land at No. 117, while Royce Hamm is No. 191. Coleman, Sims and Hamm were all ESPN 100 recruits.

In 247 Sports’ composite rankings, where most recruiting ranking lists are taken into account, Coleman was No. 47, followed by Sims at No. 49, Hamm at No. 86 and Febres at No. 87.

Translation: All of Texas’ signed recruits could be considered top 100 recruits.

A fifth recruit could be coming and would significantly improve Texas’ class ranking. Mohamed Bamba received 247 Sports’ No. 2 spot in both its own rankings and composite rankings. Bamba is considering Texas, Duke, Kentucky and Michigan.

According to the 247Sports class calculator, Bamba picking Texas would make the Longhorns’ class No. 3 in the nation.
