Four-star defensive end Ron Tatum is set to announce his college decision Wednesday at 1:30 in Putnam High School’s gym. The Oklahoma native is one of four strong-side defensive ends in the 2018 class holding a Texas offer and the 6-foot-4.5, 269-pound prospect recently included Texas in his top five along with Oklahoma, Alabama, TCU and Georgia.

Texas is yet to gain a commitment from a defensive lineman in the 2018 class. Tatum is one of eight defensive ends in the cycle with an offer from the Longhorns. Oklahoma is considered the leader for Tatum. If he chooses the Sooners, the Longhorns will focus more of their attention to in-state prospects like Max Wright and Joseph Ossai. Missouri native Daniel Carson is also a name to remember.
