REPORT: Texas men’s basketball offer Austin-area standout

A year after landing Round Rock product and St. Stephen’s standout, Jarrett Allen, Texas men’s basketball has offered a scholarship to local, Statesman All-Central Texas team member Brock Cunningham confirmed Statesman reporter Thomas Jones.  Cunningham is a member of the the 2018 class, which Texas currently has no commitments.

According to 247Sports, Cunningham is a 4-star prospect and the 10th-ranked recruit in the state of Texas.

The 6-foot-6 Westlake High School forward, averaged 14.7 points and 11.3 rebounds for a Chap team that won the District 25-6A champion and reached the regional finals.


Cunningham would join former Westlake standouts Chris Mihm and Brad Buckman, among others, as former Chaparrals turned Longhorns if he chose Texas.  According to 247 Sports, Cunningham also has offers from Houston, Missouri, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
