Let’s use Texas’ roster, history and scouting reports to countdown to the start of the 2017 football season. Today, we are only 95 days away from Texas’ home game against Maryland.
Which Longhorn wears No. 95? DT Poona Ford. Ford is coming off a junior year in which he made 12 starts and ranked fourth among the Longhorns with his 54 tackles. The 6-0, 310-pound Ford blocked two extra-point attempts in 2016.
Who also wears No. 95? Oklahoma State DE Vili Leveni (12 tackles, two sacks in 2016); Baylor DT Bravvion Roy (seven tackles)
Fun fact about No. 95: A 95-yard interception by Jack Collins against Baylor in 1936 is the longest-such play in Texas’ history. Collins’ son, who was also named Jack, compiled a Longhorn-high 450 rushing yards in 1959.
