Texas will face Butler, possibly even Duke in PK80 tournament

Longhorns are one of 16 teams that are headed to Portland in tournament to honor Nike founder

The Texas men’s basketball team may cross paths with Duke on Thanksgiving weekend according to the PK80 tournament bracket unveiled on Wednesday.

The high-profile tournament was conceived to honor Nike founder Phil Knight’s 80th birthday. A total of 16 teams are headed to Portland and will play in two different facilities.

Texas will face Butler on Thanksgiving. Duke and Portland State are playing in the other half of the “Motion” bracket. UT will face either Duke or Portland State on Nov. 24.

The other four teams on the other side of the “Motion” bracket are Florida, Gonzaga, Ohio State and Stanford. The final round game is Nov. 26.

Eight different teams are playing in the “Victory” bracket — Arkansas, Connecticut, Georgetown, Michigan State, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon and Portland.

All games will be televised by ESPN networks, however no tip times have been set.
