Let’s use Texas’ roster, history and scouting reports to countdown to the start of the 2017 football season. Today, we are only 90 days away from Texas’ home game against Maryland.
Which Longhorn wears No. 90? DL Charles Omenihu, a junior who has started in six of the 22 games he’s played in at Texas. Omenihu tackled 26 opponents in 2016. Among the Longhorns, his 3.5 sacks ranked in a tie for third.
Who also wears No. 90? Oklahoma State DL Neville Gallimore (40 tackles, one forced fumble in 2016); Baylor DE Tyrone Hunt (30 tackles, two sacks); USC LB Connor Murphy (six tackles, one fumble recovery)
Fun fact about No. 90: Thanks to his 15 touchdowns, RB D’Onta Foreman led Texas with the 90 points he scored in 2016. Five points behind Foreman on Texas’ score sheet was kicker Trent Domingue. That marked only the second time in 10 years that a non-kicker led Texas in scoring. (In 2012, Joe Bergeron outscored Nick Jordan 96-58).
