Four-star linebacker Ayodele Adeoye becomes commit No. 11 for Texas

Four-star linebacker Ayodele Adeoye became the 11th commitment of the 2018 class Sunday when the Missouri native pledged to Tom Herman’s program after a weekend spent unofficially visiting Texas and taking part in a mini-camp Saturday night.

Adeoye is a 6-foot-2, 225-pound middle linebacker prospect ranked No. 124 overall in the 2018 class and he’s ranked as the No. 5 inside linebacker prospect in the country, per 247Sports Composite. He chose Texas over more than 20 offers. He attends Ritenour High School in St. Louis.
Adeoye is Texas’ first commitment at middle linebacker in the 2018 class. Byron Hobbs, one of Texas’ first commits of the cycle, is expected to play linebacker. Five of the 11 commits play defense. Texas is likely done recruiting the linebacker position with the defensive focus shifting to cornerbacks and defensive lineman.
Five-star safety B.J. Foster is set to announce Monday and the Longhorns are strong favorites to land his commitment.
