Let’s use Texas’ roster, history and scouting reports to countdown to the start of the 2017 football season. Today, we are only 70 days away from Texas’ home game against Maryland.
Which Longhorn wears No. 70? Sophomore Buck Major, a 6-6, 315-pound offensive tackle from Huntsville. Major has yet to play in a game at Texas since he redshirted in 2015 and was injured in 2016. Before Major, the last Longhorn to wear No. 70 was offensive lineman Paden Kelley in 2011.
Who also wears No. 70? USC OL Chuma Edoga (two starts in 2016); TCU OL Cordel Iwuagwu (two starts)

Fun fact about No. 70: The longest run allowed by Texas in 2016 was TCU freshman Darius Anderson’s 70-yard jaunt during UT’s 31-9 loss on Nov. 25. Among Big 12 teams, only TCU (87 yards), Oklahoma State (79 yards) and Texas Tech (75 yards) gave up a longer season-high run in 2016.
