Which Longhorn wears No. 44? LB Breckyn Hager. The son of Texas’ all-time leading tackler, Hager fell only one tackle shy of the team lead in 2016. In addition to his 64 tackles, Hager led UT in tackles for a loss (13.5) and sacks (six).
Who also wears No. 44? Baylor LB Clay Johnston (26 tackles, one interception in 2016); USC DL Malik Dorton (nine tackles, one sack); Kansas State DL Kyle Ball (five tackles, two sacks)
Fun fact about No. 44: From 2003-05, Vince Young threw for 44 touchdowns. Young also rushed for 37 scores. In the UT history books, Young ranks fourth in rushing touchdowns and fifth in passing touchdowns.
