Texas softball to play in Puerto Vallarta Challenge in Mexico

The Texas softball team was selected to play in the 2018 Puerto Vallarta Challenge in Mexico, announced Thursday in a UT press release.
The Longhorns (33-26 in 2016) will play in the second session of the tournament, played Feb. 15-18 in Nancy Almaraz Stadium in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
The tournament, considered one of the more prestigious preseason tournaments in college softball, is split into two five-team sessions over two weekends. Texas will play in the second session alongside Ole Miss, Oregon, Rutgers and Houston. Georgia, James Madison, Long Beach State, Louisiana Tech and Nevada will play in the first session, Feb. 8-10.
The official game times and match-ups will be announced on Aug. 9.
