Texas extends inside linebacker offer to recent Arkansas commit
Posted January 26th, 2018
Texas’ search for another linebacker in the 2018 class led to Louisiana when Andrew Parker of Sophie B. Wright High School in New Orleans was extended an offer by Tom Herman and the Longhorns. The 6-foot-1.5, 225-pound prospect committed to Arkansas on Jan. 21. Texas A&M offered Parker on Jan. 23.

The Longhorns hold two commitments from linebackers in the 2018 cycle. IMG Academy (Fla.) linebacker Ayodele Adeoye is already signed and on campus preparing to compete for snaps vacated by Malik Jefferson’s departure to the NFL.
Fort Worth Eastern Hills linebacker Byron Hobbs also signed during the early period. He’ll arrive in the summer and compete at outside linebacker. The Longhorns missed on targets Nik Bonitto and DaShaun White in January when both chose Oklahoma during all-star games.
Parker recorded 107 tackles, including 26 for loss during his senior season. He also forced three fumbles and recovered one. Parker is a 3-star prospect ranked as the No. 68 inside linebacker in the country, per 247Sports Composite.
